Introduction to the classification of air dryers
A dryer refers to a mechanical device that uses thermal energy to reduce material moisture,used for drying objects.By heating,moisture(generally referring to moisture or other volatile liquid components)is vaporized and released to obtain a solid with a specified moisture content.Air dryers can be classified based on different characteristics such as operation process,pressure,movement,or structure.According to the process,air dryers are divided into intermittent(intermittent)and continuous.

According to the working pressure,air dryers can be divided into atmospheric pressure and vacuum.The latter can reduce the moisture partial pressure of the space,accelerate the drying process,lower the boiling point and drying temperature,and prevent steam leakage.Therefore,dryers are suitable for materials that are heat sensitive,easily oxidizable,explosive,and toxic,as well as for situations that require the recovery of water vapor.
According to heating,the air dryer is divided into convection,conduction,radiation,and dielectric.Countercurrent,also known as direct dryer,uses a hot medium to come into direct contact with the object,and through convective heat transfer,takes away the generated steam;Conductive air dryer,also known as indirect type,uses conduction to transfer the heat of the heat source through metal partitions.The generated wet steam can be removed by introducing a small amount of blowing gas or condensing on the surface of a separately set low-temperature condenser.This type of air dryer does not use drying media,has high thermal efficiency,and the product is pollution-free.But its drying ability is limited by the heat transfer area of the metal wall,and its structure is complex,so it often operates under vacuum.Radiation air dryer:Various radiators emit electromagnetic waves within a certain wavelength range,which are selectively absorbed by the surface and then converted into heat for drying;The dielectric air dryer uses a high-frequency electric field for drying.
In the future,air dryers will be developed and improved through in-depth research on drying mechanisms and characteristics,mastering different conditions.In addition,large-scale,high-strength,high economy,improved adaptability to raw materials,and product quality are the basic trends of air dryers.At the same time,further research and development will be conducted on new types of air dryers with high efficiency and special requirements,such as freezing,rotating wheels,and air freezing.
When a compressed air dryer is used as a post-treatment equipment,whether the dew point of the completed compressed air can reach the required level depends on the type of adsorbent and the amount of equipment loaded.At the same level,this depends on the regeneration of the adsorbent.
